scattered thoughts; more for me than you 30.05.06 12:03 p.m.
Get off the computer. Don't pretend you're here to do work, you're slacking and looking at blogs. Go look at your To Do list:
* Dishes
* Sweep and vacuum floors
* Vacuum the couches
* Change the cat litter
* Go for a bike ride before it rains!
I rode up to the Olympic Park yesterday, where there is a beautiful circuit encompassing trees and fragrant grass. It was worth getting all sweaty and sore and huffy. It was even worth biking down a pothole-riddled, two-lane, busy boulevard and nearly getting squished. I figure if I get really good at that circuit, I'll try to tackle the park on the mountain next. I'm terrible with inclines - it shows that I smoke too much.
Oh, about the smoking: I'm planning on quitting as the public smoking ban goes through. I figure it should be a bit easier on me if I'm literally forbidden from it. Please cross your digits for me, since this is the fifth time in three years I have endeavoured to quit. My record is one week, and I promised myself that if I make it to six months, I'll have my teeth whitened. Trust me, I want to do this, but it's difficult, and I can tell you that from experience.
The withdrawl symptoms can probably be tackled easily by biking, and they've never given me too much trouble, surprisingly. It's the habit, you see. The trick is to keep my hands and mouth busy (quiet in the peanut gallery, please) without resorting to excessive snacking, gnawing on hard objects (pencils, fingernails). I hate chewing gum, so that's out. Perhaps I'll start buying grapes or berries.
Anyhow, I should go do stuff. This is all just mental spew . Stuff. time to do it.
